Background
Altrucoin's existing codebase was difficult to sustain, and the UI had hierarchy issues that made the platform hard to understand. In a one-month engagement, I was brought in to redesign core pages and establish a scalable foundation. I also mentored one of the founding members to continue UX/UI development after my contract ended.
Understanding the User
Working with stakeholder insights, I developed a persona representing Altrucoin's target user: someone curious about crypto but not yet confident navigating complex financial interfaces. Judy needed to easily compare investment options and - as an admin - create and manage vault pools without confusion.
Framing the Solution
I framed the work around two core challenges: enabling investors to compare options and make educated decisions, and enabling admins to create vaults without confusion. The trickiest design problem was adapting the desktop comparison table for mobile - on desktop, users could scan rows side-by-side, but that density would overwhelm smaller screens.
Designing the Interface
I redesigned the core flows with two priorities: clarifying hierarchy for comparison and making vault creation intuitive.
The vault list uses clear hierarchy, accessible colors, intuitive filtering, and a table format that enables easy comparison across options.
Vault creation is structured with sectioned chunks, example text for clarity, and a long-form format that lets users review all content before submitting.
The mobile vault list adapts the comparison table into a compact layout, preserving information priorities without overwhelming smaller screens.

Impact & Takeaways
The redesign brought coherence to Altrucoin's core flows, solving the desktop-to-mobile comparison challenge while establishing a scalable design foundation. Mentoring a founding member extended the impact beyond my contract, giving the team capacity to continue iterating on UX independently.
